Hi, anyone have experiences with Coradion melanopus and Coradion chrysozonus...
I managed to get 1 juvenile specimen of each...

Thanks..

Anyways, I have released them and they are pecking on the liverocks... Most probably the pods as i have a lot a lot of them..

Best of luck with them. Were they eating when you purchased them? That's pretty much the biggest hurdle with them, as their dietary needs aren't well understood.

I've tried two Coradion melanopus, both with no success. One didn't eat from the get go, the other one didn't eat enough to sustain itself and slowly withered. Neither were intro'd to the DT, and were strictly QT'd. I suspect you'll have much better luck since you intro'd them into the DT.

Hi, They were not eating when I got them, got them on the 2nd day of the shipment...
But when in the betta box they were quite responsive to the foods that I fed my fishes...
Trying to get out of the box to eat the food.

Hope they are going to start feeding soon, will update periodically on their status..
It is very difficult to find information, not many reefer have kept them before..

Both of them are actually quite actively trying to feed during feeding time and are pecking on the mysis that landed on the rocks...

Thank, I really hope can keep them alive... Will try to snap some photo but I am using a Mobile Camera so it is a bit difficult..

I thought the vid was pretty good, and actually prefer vids unless the photographer is really good (I'm not...). Big E did ya see the vid?

Good luck dude!

Thanks, I would take video of them pecking at the rocks during feeding...

And as for reefsafe, I would think that they should be quite safe.. No pecking on SPS, Zoas, Leathers and Seafans..

Sorry, I initially missed the vid due to my security system. Turned if off to view.............very cool. They are difficult to tell apart. The melanopus higher more narrow body really makes it a unique shaped fish.........good luck!

To be frank, I initially thought it is two melanopus but it turned out one is Chrysozonus..
