coral and duster depression

Hey everyone . . I've had a pretty large feather duster for a 3 weeks now, and at first it was always open. In the last week it is almost always closed. I haven't changed anything as far as supplementing, lighting, or feeding. I even got rid of an irritating emerald crab that picked at it the first night. (problems didnt happen til way after) . Also I am planning on adding some soft corals including toadstools, spaghetti leathers, etc. and am wondering the best way to feed them. I have a 75 gal, 80lbs of live rock, 18 gal sump/fuge. The fuge has a good hunk of chaeto, and from what I can see in there a medium population of pods (nothing excitingly large)

Thanks :)
