I was lookin in my tank today and noticed that the claw arm of my coral banded shrimp was missing on the left hand side!!
Not too sure what did this but i was woundering if it will grow back or if hell be a gimp for the rest of his life???

Other crabs and inverts in the tank...sally light foot, 15 hermits blue and red leg, and a hawian strawberry crab....any ideas on who is the culprit???

Sally lightfoot maybe, sometimes they lose them during molting. They dont really use those claws for much other than aggression anyway so it shouldnt effect feedint etc. It will grow back As it moults.

We have one that's a little demon, he constantly tries to sneak up on little fish and attack! He killed our highfin goby, all we found was his spine and highfin lying beside the murderer. :(
He's so mean he'll even try to attack us when we stick our hands in the tank! He lost a claw and it was one of the happiest days in our life, thinking he'd never bother anything again. Now it has grown back bigger than ever...

We have had our banded shrimp lose an arm (or two once) and I think his problem was he messed with the wrong fish in the tank and they got even. If I remember correctly I read somewhere(can't find it at the moment) that if they are attacked and something grabs there claws they will sacrifice the claw to get away. Ours has always regrown a new one back in its place in 2-3 moltings or so. It was kind of weird the first time it happened as I did not know what to expect.
