Coral Beauty, Cherub angel Compatibility

Thought others would find this interesting... Coral Beauties are known as rather aggressive Dwarf Angels, (Centropyge), many believe that mixing these with other dwarfs is hard to do unless in a tank over 6 foot. My CB is especially agressive, a large beautiful male. He chased my Kole tang relentlessly for a whole week and still does on occasion. I tried adding a flame angel with him to my 120 but had to remove it within 10 minutes. The other day, though, I decided to try another Centropyge but this time Centropyge argi known commonly as the Cherub angel. I believed that since this guy was so small that my CB wouldnt recgonize it as an angel. It appears that this may be true because my CB has not shown any aggression towards the Cherub. Infact they often graze right next to each other. So do you love Dwarf Angels? Does your aggressive Centropyge keep you from trying to add another? If your tank is large enough and mature, try a Cherub (Centropyge argi.

I think this is a typical "individual fish" thing. The next Cherub you try with a CB could be a terror and the next Flame could be fine with the CB. Cherubs, IME, can be as aggressive as any fish in the genus. The only way you'll know if two dwarf Angels will co-exist is to try them.

I've always loved and have kept a Coral beauty in my tanks. My current tank is 400g. In there I had a Ebilli angel that had settle din. I purchased a beautiful Coral Beauty that I found and introduced him to the tank. The Ebill chased him for about 2 days befoer giving up. After that, they were fine in the tank. Later, I adde a pair of lemonpeel angles that seemed to be mated up.

The lemonpeels didn't seem to mind or bother my other two angels. They did however care about each other and starte dchasing one another.

Fast forward several months, now the two leemonpeels are usually swimming together. The one I beleive to be a male will occasionally chase the other lemonpeel and then they ate back swimming together. They have never bothered my Coral Beauty or my Ebilli. For now, everone is doing fine.

I also have a majestic Angel in the tank a swell and they don't seem to ever notice him. I'm currently looking for a Blue Ringed angel to add to the tank as well.

I am a big fan of using an acclamation box when attempting to mix dwarf angels. Give the fish time to get used to each other, and it allows you to remove the one fish if it is very apparent that it isn't going to work out.
