Coral Beauty Needs Help!

Hello,
My Coral Beauty is acting strange. He is very fat but when i went to check on him i saw some scales were raise up. He also stays near the surface. He also was eating like a pro yesterday? Any idea what is going wrong? I feed the tank mysis and he did try, but gave up. Very much like my old blonde naso who passed because this happen (No raised scales though). I really dont want to lost him.

How long have you had the fish? Did you quarantine it? Have you added anything new to the tank? How long have the symptoms been going on?

Symptoms have started showing today, and the only thing i have added since him is a hermit crab. I QT him for 4 weeks as i dosed him with prazi and copper. I had him for about 4 months.

He is not doing to hot, He is very light colored and barley moving, give movment is very slow. Very little small chance he will live thru tonight

It might be a bacterial infection like Pseudonomas, Corynebacterium sp. or the like.
Symptoms are raised scales and a swollen body.
At this state the internal organs, especially the kidneys, are already infected and the fish is likely beyond recovery.

Prophylactic treatments include erythromycin, nifurpirinol or tetracycline.

Well I check on him, He was almost dead. euthanasia wasn't fun.

Sorry about that..it's awful to have to do that. The hermit crab may have brought in something. Do you have any other fish in the tank?
