Coral Beauty picking on clam

I have had my clams for about a month and everything was going on just fine. One day I noticed that the clams were not open. Then they would start and the Coral Beauty would come a pick at the shell. I am not sure why this would happen out of the blue. Has anyone had this problem or heard of it. I put them under some egg crate grating that I made a box out of. They are extended and doing fine. Just looks bad in the tank.

Just wondering if my CB just decided to be a jerk or if this is normal.

do you think he will loose interest?
Nope. I believe that's pretty common behavior for dwarf angels.

IMO and IME these pygmy angels shouldn't be kept with clams. some people get away with it but many more haven't. also IME once they start picking they wont stop

One or the other has to go.

In my case, I've had to take out a foxface and a kole tang before. My blue tang is picking on some SPS but that's fine. If he touches the clams, that's another story, he would have to go out, despite being the most senior most spoiled fish resident of my tank (about 6 years).

Pigmy angels unfortunately do not have a marked trend, some do, some don't. Some never touch anything for years and then one day they snap into nipping. Oh, and once they start, they won't stop ever. Good luck.
