Coral Club in Augusta Georgia!!!!

well I'm just getting into the whole reef thing. I've been doing freshwater for years though. Doing a wall build as we speak..and I suck at aquascaping. Trying to get it all done so this weekend I can move my 60cube over to the system. Nice to see some more people from augusta, even though it's only three, lol. Now I just gotta find somewhere decent to buy frags around here.

lol, not 100% sure yet, pretty much anything to get started and learn more. I'm a fan of anything with bright colors and love the acans and ricordea, my wife likes any of the soft corals that flow a lot and the hammer tips. Just now getting everything set-up..you can see where I'm at on my build. I have a 60gal cube that's been established and doing great that's going to be tied into my new system.

I just ordered my light, so I've got atleast a week before it comes in, I shouldn't have to worry about a cycle the way I'm setting everything up. I need to buy another box of base rock this weekend and that's almost it for the tank for now, still have a ways to go on the stand and upgrading some equipment.

I'll gladly take you up on that after I get my tanks integrated and moved over this weekend, I want to make sure the water parameters all stay good after the transition. Right now all I have is a Duncan, two unknown (to me) types of polyps, and a palythoa. Everything except for the duncan came with the tank and was supposedly dead...but with good water and lights on them, they just decided to open up a couple weeks ago and a growing fast. Almost trashed them, glad I didn't now.

I have zoanthids and some montipora sps. I lost several dozen colonies ~60 -70 of acropora during the ice storm.

I actually live in Lincoln county, only about 2 miles from columbia county line, but I work off highway 56, so i just claim Augusta. We got lucky and didn't lose power at all during the storm. I did however lose power yesterday. Guessing for about 4 hours considering how bad the time was off on my light controller. Only thing I noticed was that my tank was about 2 degrees lower temp than normal and my lights somehow reset to a new moon phase at 5pm. Sorry for your losses, I heard a lot of people lost complete tanks.

It was close to complete. I looked up your build thread. Looks good. I know a few people from LC. You and your from there?

I've always lived here, My wife is from augusta, but after living here doesn't wanna go back, lol. I've converted her to the country life. If you are ever up this way you should let me know, I'd love to have some more input on my build. My shop's a huge mess right now, but it's slowly getting better.

Ok will do.
Did your wife go to school at Evans? If she didnt she has an identical twin. The girl she looks like has a sister that is my age.

I live in martinez. If you need anything and if I can help out let me know.

Nice to finally see some life in this thread! Don't have any frags yet, as my tank is currently under construction, but it's good to see there are potential traders in the area.

Where does everyone get their livestock from? I've never had any complaints about Bob's, other than limited selection. Do you drive to ATL, do the internet thing, etc. ?

Atlanta is common. Pure reef, sea atlanta, atlanta aquarium - not the big aquarium only the store. Check out the sponsors on their forum. Or on this forum. Many nice things from them.

I'm new to this but bob's is pretty good, like you said, limited selection. Aquarium Outfitters in Athens has a lot of stuff and extremely helpful, 1600 gallons of frag tank. I'm going to ride to Columbia SC saturday to check out fishy business.

Went to columbia the first time I was in the hobby, decent store. Never been to Atlanta, but it's on my agenda once I get the tank up and running (probably another 2 months). Tried the internet thing a few years back, without much success. You guys ever pop into Star Aquatics before they went out of business? They had a great selection and the owner was a stand up guy.
