Those that went to coral con, did you grab anything good? I loved all the sticks reef Gardner had for sale, they were super gorgeous but I couldn't pay $100 for a finger nail size frag. I did grab a couple interesting pieces

Ya I pick up 3 new pieces But just got home... will post pics tomorrow...OOO BY the way the Raffle suxed azz......Way too long......

I bought so much stuff. Prices where fair. They need to learn how to run large raffles. That ruined the entire experience for us.

I will try to post pictures tomorrow

I agree with this right here, the raffle was a cluster. Missed out on all of the vendors wheeling and dealing due to the raffle taking hours.

Raffle was a bit of a cluster. Reefapalooza, space coast and yesterday I tried to tell them to do the live goods and must be present to win items first so people can move on. I think the 4365 gift cards their were giving away and the fact that Maverick gave a 10 min speech between each item mucked things up a bit. I understand you need to mention the sponsor who donated it and thank them, but we don't need an explanation on what each item is. If you don't know what you're putting your tickets in for that should be on you. Other then that I'm not really sure how they could speed it up. I have an idea in my head I'm going to try and bring up before Florida frag swap. After the raffle I still managed to grab some killer deals as they we're breaking down. It doesn't really help when you had vendors starting to pack up at 2pm

CoralCon posted on their FB page that they have gotten some ideas on how to improve the show for next year and here is their post.

"Just a few suggestions we have received and will work into the changes that will be made for ‪#‎CoralCon2015‬:
- Limited Coral Vendors (30 or so maximum)
- Split the Raffle between both days (Live Goods Saturday, Dry Goods Sunday)
- Rework the way the raffle was drawn (No more waiting for 3 hours)
- Some more precise advertisement to the local stores and clubs

Thank you again for coming this year and please keep the comments coming so we can continue to make the show better every year and continue to support the growing Florida-based reefing community!

Much Love.

I like the idea of splitting between 2 days, I like the gift card idea and also agree talking about every single vendor before a raffle pull took forever and telling where they are located in the raffle hall is kind of a waste since almost all were starting to pack up by that point. I think they are on the right track with the live stuff on day 1 and dry goods on day 2, only thing I would modify is having gift cards on day 1 also so that encourages people to either come back to spend the gift card and more money or stay later on day 1 to use their gift card and spend more money.

I knew the raffle was going to take forever, so I'm glad they are still improving that. The only gripe I have is that limiting vendors down (I have no idea how many were there) will not give the chance for new upcoming coral suppliers to be able to "show their stuff".

I met a couple of guys there that I thought were just in the hobby and brought their frags. :D I surely didn't see a business name.

Like I said before still mourning the fact I didn't buy the Oregon Tort.

The second one down is amazing nice pick....

Why limit the coral vendors? We get better prices and selection. I like all of the other suggestions. I can't remember an event I attended that had a good sized raffle that was well done which is why I won't buy raffle tickets. We picked up 8 corals for three different vendors none of which were local.
