Coral died..

I keep my upstairs at 80 during the day and kick it down to 77 at night(have ceiling fans for air movement) Unfortunately I can't afford the electric bill for 70 or I would love it! Heck I wish I could by a chiller, my tank has been getting up to 83 during the hottest part of the day :(

I lost a small tank when I had a problem with me heater so I feel your pain. One thing you can do when you get your tank running is get a temperature controller that will cut the heat off in case of a malfunction.

My heater never goes on - with my T5's my temp swings between 78 and 81.

its 10 pm, its dark outside, do you know what your husband is doing on the internet?

I can see that PSA coming soon during the after school specials

Jarob, it is hard for us all to know the status of your tank, etc, make a tank build thread and keep everyone updated on your tank so everyone knows what's going, in that case everyone will know all of your information and be able to make judgements based on that

after reading your first post it doesnt really say anything about what's going on...we dont know if your tanks been set up formonths and you're just emptying it to have it drilled, or if you bought it last week

anyways, Im jealous of all you richies out there that get 70 degrees, I live with a female, so I cant turn mine below 80 or she might get hypothermia, not to mention our electricity goal is $100/month

Jarob, Your PM is full.

Latazyo, my wife was like that until she got pregnant. Now I can't raise it above 70. Since I like it cold that is heaven for me.

Sorry everyone for my mailbox being full, it is now completly empty. Also, the tank was set up for a few months, and I just emptied it momentarly to get it worked on, but I'm not going to set it back up now until I move to Columbia, MO on the 17th. When I set it back up there, again, with most of the same water and LR LS, I will do a 1/3 water change and let it run with just the fish and LR for a few weeks. I will post a thread once it is up and running on the 17th though to let people know whats going on. I will be back every other weekend most likely though. Thanks everyone for your support and help!

Going to college here? MU? Are you going to be staying in the dorms or an apartment somewhere? I'm a junior at MU and will likely be applying for vet school this fall :)

*shrug* my house is set at 76 just to save money, and even then my electric bill is over $400 I cant imagine what it would be at 70

Just in summer usually its heat not cold thats a problem. I dont use heaters at all as my lights and pumps keep my tank heated sometimes too much.
My house is at 81 and my electric bill is 200. Ameren sucks!!!

I keep mine at 72 in the summer and it keeps itself warm in the winter most of the time by itself . I think my house is on top of a hellmouth or something .

As for your needs jarod I'm sure I have some frags you can have .

That's relatively close to where I live, at least in the same general vicinity. What are you majoring in?

When you get yourself all situated and get your tank ready to go I'm sure I can find some things to frag for you. Also, if you need any chaeto I can hook ya up there as well.

If I let her, my wife would have the house at 90 year round. My controller and chiller has saved my tank from my wife and other influences on several occasions.

I don't know why all of your wives are so coldblooded. I think having my house set at 73 is entirely too hot.
