Coral frag shipping

Yesterday was the first coral frag shipment I made using the dry shipment method. I took the frags wrapped them with a moist paper towel (tank water) and placed that into the bags individually. Into the cooler and off to its destination. Well the good news is they arrived alive but two of the frags are pale in color. Now my question is this, any one who uses this shipping method do some of your frags arrive pale in color? Would this be because of no light for the time it is in shipment? Could there be another reason? I am going to run an experiment on those frags to try to find out what caused them to get pale or lighter in color. I will just pack them up as if getting shipped, leave in the porch and wait for 12 hours then I will unpack and see what happens.
Any info or suggestions on packing coral frags this way would be appreciated and helpful.
Thanks
