Coral Fragging advice needed

So i have this master colony growing on my base rock and i am in no mood to take the rock out to frag that. Is there a way i can get get frags of it off? I was thinking about putting some shell pieces or rubble in-between them and hoping that they grow on them enough for me to kinda rip them off and have a few on the fragments i laid down. This is just one idea i had but any advice would be welcomed and appreciated.

Duh... It's a colony of zoas

but its the base rock. i have two colonies growing on it and some green zenia. If i were to remove it i think it would disturb the sediment too much.

I believe he meant to use the razor blade to take the zoas off the rock while it's still in the tank.
