I have seen a couple guys post things on the SCMAS CLUB forum and say they are not members. I thought this froum was just that. So are you a member or not. I am so comfused.

Yes Dan, you are correct. When the forum was set up it was soley for the benefit of SCMAS members, we didn't set it up to be a free for all for anyone. We have never discouraged anyone from posting here; however, IMO seeing someone proclaim to not be a member and in the same thread say they have set up a group buy using the SCMAS name is troubling to me.
The intent of this atmosphere is supposed to be a collectivist group to benefit frome one another, as Russ points out. Actually that is the point of having a reef club.
One other thing...if people are using the forum to their benefit, participating in group buys, etc...IMO they are a member of SCMAS. If they do not want to be a part of SCMAS then the mechanisims we have made available to everyone maybe should not be available to them. It is the members which support SCMAS and make all of this available..and that should not be taken for granted.

I agree Russ. That was my point. Everything that we do here screams a club typr function. We help each other out, do group buys and the such. But then some people got there feelings hurt and denounce there "membership". It stills seems like club stuff to me. Who cares about the political stuff. Just enjpy reefing and being friendly. Is a club not a group of people with the same goals?? Chris I was not attacking you. Just curious. You and Dan K both said no thank you, but still everything appears the same as before. I am, sure if there was a meeting that you guys would like to go. I am not going to say to much and start another fire. Just seems silly to have this scool yard bull **** over piety stuff.

If you particapite in this kind of stuff go to a meeting whatever. It seems like you are a member of a group of people with the same interest. Put whatever name on it.

ON a more positvie note: that Ultimate Acan is VERY NICE. The price tag is HIGH. lol Maybe if we do go in and split the cost and let it grow in Russ's tank and frag it later. I wouldn't mind waitting. lol

The above statement is accurate. We can't play both sides of the fence here. (At least we shouldn't) If a group order is placed in the name of SCMAS then that represents the club and as such would represent membership.
I hope Chris and anyone else ordering on this would consider themselves members. I feel we have had past issues that are hopefully working themselves out and allowing us to move on. I would also like to participate in this group order, but not if we are going to have split representation.
