Coral growing contest 2017!

Frogspawn has generously agreed to donate frags of green slimer for our growing contest.

We will hand out frags at the spring swap. Whoever wants in will have to post here. Getting a frag will cost you a cdp point. If you dont have any cdp points a frag will cost you 10 bucks. The monetary cost is just to make sure that people arent going to take frags of sps just because their free when their tank isnt ready or set up to house sps.

Once you have your frag at home you will have one week to post a starting photo. We will then post a monthly photo for growth comparison. The contest will go for one year,or until the 2018 spring swap. A couple weeks before the 2018 spring swap we will submit our final photos and members will vote on who they think has gotten the most growth .

In all honesty a self proclaimed SPS connoisseur should have a rocking SPS DISPLAY Tank. Before one starts smack talking all about growing Corals. Lets see a pic of that Rocking Display Tank or any Rocking SPS Display Tank you've grown in the past with SPS colonies.

If I could grow coral like Pife does I would grow them in any Tupperware tub I have around and call that a display tank. It's a good thing he's humble.

By far I'm not a wizard but I can see that this club is not going in the direction of fun. Some are mis-representing the club and some have no idea about the history. In my opinion it's best to let those that have more patience than I to try and redirect those to what the clubs true meaning is and see where it goes.

I was unwilling. Someone tried to insert a frag in my DISPLAY tank and the dang Tang thing happened. I knew I couldn't compete with you. So thats my story... I'm sticking to it.

He is humble because of the many beautiful rare half cut sticks that decorate his reef bone yard. Dang Schplitter I thought you've been around long enough to know the smack talk runs deep in this club. Don't go all soft on us because of the Pifer. If it wasn't for the liveliness chatter of Pife's misfortune this would be nothing but a whats for sale forum. Now lets see them full tank shots Pife. :fun5: You SPS connoisseur you.
