Coral Growth is Shadowing Clam

Si my tank is about 6 years old. My SPS growth is off the charts. So my clam is getting huge but he is getting less light. Lately he spends more time closed than usual.

Should I try to move him? I dont think I can if I wanted...

It is going to need light or it will eventually die. Maybe time to move it on to a different home with less coral blocking the light?

I am gonna re-position my front Kessil to give it more light.

I would be more inclined to move the rocks that are sandwiching him in there first. If it had more room it may move on its own to a brighter spot. That way your not risking damaging its foot if it is still using one. My clam is much smaller than yours but whenever I change the MP40s flow pattern I'll find the clam in a different location the next morning.

Most of the rocks are calcified into the sand bed and the egg crate underneath. I can get rid of some of them and he may have some wiggle room...

well he died. never showing any symptoms he was unhappy until those last few days when he closed up... bummer... he was huge.
