Coral ID and Lighting ?

Can someone tell me what kind of corals these are. They look like little flower pot corals but I am not totally sure. I also would like to know what type of lighting these should be placed in, do they like strong light or shade and any advice on aquarium placement as well. Shallow or deep?

I also picked up the pink collapsed looking coral on the left of the picutre the other day can someone ID it as well .. In the shop it was standing up but its been in my tank for 2 days and it looks pretty bad I am wondering if this is just because it has not adjusted yet and it needs more time.

I would strongly suggest you do your homework before purchasing any more corals.

The pink coral to the left is a carnation coral. They do not require light, but they do require regular feedings to survive. I use APR, phytoplankton and microvert for my softie tank. However, all of my softies are photosynthetic, so my feedings are sporadic. I would use a turkey baster and try to target feed with the current off. A nonphotosynthetic may require daily feedings.

The two on the rock appear to be Goniopora sp. I wish I could tell you more, I have never been able to keep them alive and stopped trying years ago.

The sponge needs to be fed a lot too. I've kept them alive for years, but with daily feedings of phyto and microvert.

Either way, you are going to have to stay on top of your tank maintenance to keep them alive and thriving (it can be done, don't want to give you the wrong idea).

I think those are alveopora.

Count the tentacles on the polyps. 12 tentacles is alveopora and 24 tentacles is goniopora.

Good luck with those corals, they are all difficult to expert corals. Well except for the carnation it's probably intermediate.
