Pretty sure it's a favia of some sort, my LFS said it was a Montastrea, but I can't find any pictures online that convince me.

Either way, it's a coral I've always loved in my LFS's show tank, which they ripped down because they are closing. When they offered to let me buy it for cheap, I jumped on it.

About the size of a grapefruit or coconut. It's still pretty POed in the pic, haha.

100 bucks. My buddy at the LFS said the medium version smaller than this one goes for 299$ in their system. Not sure about that, but it always caught my eye.

It looks like an acan to me which is why it cost so much. It could be some kind of favia, but my first guess is an acan of some sort.

im pretty sure its not an acan. ive seen these before but am emptyminded right now...:/

Definitely not an Acan. Monastrea isn't a bad guess, could be a Gonastrea sp. Im leaning more towards Platygyra sp.? Platygyra Pini?
Who knows, beautiful specimen!
