I got a coral sorry no pic yet but its suposed to be a hydnopora does it have a skeleton Luke a plate coral

There are two types (maybe more) of hydnophora - encrusting and branching. From my experience they both look a lot alike in terms of they are very green with "fuzzy" brownish polyps when their polyps are expanded. Here is a picture of ours (the branching kind). Do the polyps look like yours as it sounds like yours may be encrusting since you are describing it similar to a plate?

I don't know looks more like some kind of lps to me. The polyps look similar but all green and have allot of flesh under them
