Coral ID

I bought this coral, was told it was a leptastrea coral, but looking at all the pics available on the net it doesn't look like a leptastrea coral at all. I have yet to see any kind of tentacles out during the day, but I did witness it using it's sweeper tentacle which was translucent, can anyone help me ID this coral.

Not Leptastrea.

I don't have a definitive ID. It's like a faviidae with long / irregularly shaped polyps and small oral disks.

I bet color will change from what it is now. Just a feeling.

I think you nailed it, it looks alot like this pic.

when I have actinics on it I can clearly see the green areas, the pic was taking at night, during the day with the lights on it is more of a pinkish tone, bahh that's what I get for choosing a coral I have never seen before and impulse buying. it says it needs high light I have it in the sand as I am saving my rockwork for an encrusting montipora I bought. might see if I can trade it back in to the LFS to get something a little more appropriate for my tank, and placement needs.

thank you for help IDing this coral. the LFS I bought it from doesn't usually take corals back for credit, but since I was giving the wrong name when I bought it, and I spend so much there they let me bring it back, so I traded it for a nice Chalice frag which will do better on the sand bed. thnx again
