Here you go. Only the green polyps retract. The red base will retract in size a little. It's tough what ever it is. It's been out of water, out of light and basically abused. There were some aiptasia on the rock so it was in the aiptasia tank until I saw the coral on it, and moved it under MH lights in a frag tank.
Doesn't look like a Goniopora to me. Hard to say with the pics though. When the polyps retract in Goni's and Alveporas the skeleton and coralite should be exposed. Polyps also grow close together not spread apart as the pic would indicate. The color would be unusual in this family as well. Is the orange area the coral tissue or is it a encrusting sponge over growing the coral?? Personally I would look closer at someting in Faviidae or Mussidae familes.
