Not judging here.

But my understand is that corals collected from wild are rife with pests.

Am I wrong?

Wild can be fine and frags rife with pests.
It all depends if they are properly dipped and quarantined and if the tanks they are kept in are parasite free or crawling with all kinds of nasty stuff.

This is inaccurate. That's like saying all fish collected from the wild are infested with disease which isn't true. Coral imports is no longer a buisness so what was or wasn't done really isn't important here. Any colony size piece you see for sale anywhere is transhipped and came straight from the ocean. Coral farms in the ocean are subject to the same pests as the rest. Also not everyone wants a 1" frag of something
