I went to Coral Island today for the first time and I must say WOW this place is awesome. They had a ton of high end frags. I finally found an LFS that carries high end frags and is local. Definitely worth checking out!




* I am not affiliated in anyway with this fish store. I just wanted to give others a heads up on this lfs. It is under a new owner and changed a lot from the old store I remember.
 
I went in there a couple months ago, and I agree. The new owner is bringing in some nice coral, much different than it was before. Plus he seems pretty cool and not pushy.
 
Thanks for sharing. Did they have a decent inventory of tanks-stand-canopy setups for sale? I was thinking about swinging by there and checking em out as I'm in the market for a new setup. I haven't been there in a few years.
 
I didn't know they had a new owner. I used to get my freshwater fish there. He always got rare and hard to get fish. I'll have to check it out now. Thanks for sharing!
 
I went to this place a while back and was very impressed. Lots of high end zoa/favia/chalice/sps frags. They new owner was still setting up but there was already a showtank with several large LE colonies.
 
yea, its on chapman ave between main and the 57. was their earlier today and picked up a few frag. Every time im out in the oc I have to stop by. I've never walked out disappointed on quality or prices. I think their running a deal right now, if you spend $100 dollars you get a free clam. Don't quote me, but you might want to ask, cus thats what i was told today. I'll give this thread an A
 
I went in there a few weeks ago. Tony is a really nice guy. It was actually my first time meeting him. He did tell me that the former owner Huey is still a partner in the store. To me this is a bonus as you may get the best of both worlds. When I lived in Anaheim this was always one of my favorite stores. That is the first store I bought an sps coral from. Killed it right away!
 
I liked the fact that he carries a ton of high end SPS frags for sale. Its rare to find an lfs that actually has colorful sps frags, I usually see them brown lol. I need to free up some room in my tank then im going back from some colorful sticks :D
 
Yes a really good store with a lot of potencial, a lot of LE corals, wow a lot of chalices too very nice store
 
yes tony is a great guy with alot of sps
i got a sick huge efflo colony there size of small basketball
 
oh... this is tony's shop..? yeah, i totally have to check it out... he's an AWESOME friend... an avid collector...
 
I went there today and got a really nice chalice and a ora red planet and got a FRREEEE clam. A free clam for at least $100.00 spent...yippeeee. Will post pics when I find my camera. Tons of great stuff. I wanted a strawberry shortcake frag, really good sized one too, but I wanted to make sure that my tank is sps ready. We'll see how my ora red planet fairs.
 
I hear he has a decent sized mother colony of the Red Dragon. When I was there, he didn't have it in the shop yet, he just had a couple frags of it. He said that he named/founded the "Red Dragon Acro." Anybody see the mother colony?
