is anyone useing one of these. Ive seen them in a couple catalogs and was considering getting because they are not nearly as expensive as most reactors.

Every single thing I have ever bought from them has broken quickly, including a simple light timer. I am never going to buy anything from them again, although you may have better luck with their products.

LOL! I have to agree w/ Brian...
I've not seen a decent product w/ their label on it.
As in most area's of life, you get what you pay for. While not always true, there's generally a reason something costs more than something similar, and the value in that difference, is up to the user (but if the market will bear it, there's likely just cause).

I haven't tried the CA reactor, but I do have the Coralife Super Skimmer 220, which seems to work pretty well.

Only problem was when the pump impeller shaft snapped (under warranty) it took them about a month to get me a new one. I ended up ordering a different needlewheel pump (Gen-X) to get the skimmer going (the new pump seems to produce better foam than the original anyway).

I was not happy with their customer service and lack of urgency about repairing an important piece of equipment. They did eventually send me the part, though.
