Coral placement help

So i got some corals from wwc and i have no idea where to place them. They be on the bottom now for a week. Im not good at this lol. I have loctite superglue and waterweld epoxy. Do i take corals off the plug? I have a coral list they gave me.

Typically starting off at the bottom for all corals is usually a good idea..

Beyond that you try to place them in an area where they will receive the amount of light, flow, etc... they require based on the type of coral and the specifics of your tank..

Some choose to take them off the plugs.. Some do not.. Choice is yours and some of that depends on the type of corals.


Please turn down the blue channel in the future for any pictures... The color rendition,etc.. just plain sucks which makes it difficult to even see what you really have there..

RTN/STN (Rapid/Slow Tissue Necrosis)..
If the skin is coming off its likely dying.. If its white (no skin) its likely dead BUT they can recover (rarely)..

Lack of polyp extension can be a sign its not "happy" but not always a full proof indicator of its state..

I just took a Nitrate test and going to check again but it looks like it's at 15ppm. Could the chemiclean made it rise by killing off the Cyano?

Salinity 35 ppt
NO3 around 4ppm I think using red sea pro low range -- going to see results using high range
PO4 0.12 Hanna 713 checker

going to check calcium and alk later.

Brown is not dead.. Brown is typically caused by the algae inside it being close to the surface.

I would suggest staying away from SPS type corals though until you are more experienced and your tank is much more stable.. You will just waste money killing them..

I got it from coral club; yea I will not do SPS not to familiar with them. Are you saying it's too high in my tank and getting too much light?

That is an SPS coral..same with one of those you got from WWC...

Browning can be caused by a few things..Light can be one..
Elevated nutrient levels can too....
