Coral Placement - Tips/Suggestions Welcome!

Hi All,

Here are some pics of my new coral placements. I'm gonna give away the toadstool eventually, the spot where it's located will be for SPS some day down the road. Not sure where I'm gonna put the Duncan, Blasto and chalice frag yet. I'm hoping the Cyphastrea covers that entire base rock outcropping eventually. They all seem to be doing well. Would love to hear suggestions if I'm doing anything wrong. Note: running GAC for the close softies.

PS. I made a mess with the glue...Any suggestions to remove or some sort of reef safe purple paint to hide it?

Thanks,

Thanks, that's helpful. Been going off liveaquaria.

Does anyone see any obvious errors with placements?

I think the placement looks good, just don't start your frogspawn up top when you get it. I would like to see in about 2 years though how the devils hand, tyree toadstool and kenya tree all mush together. also be ware that the toadstool's and kenya tree's drop baby's like no other. I like kenya tree's, but I now refrain from them in my tanks, to me they are just like xenia. spread like wildfire.

Thanks. Can the frogspawn go at the top eventually? I saw another person who did something similar and it looked awesome.

And thanks D.

the frogspawn will be happiest with medium flow and medium lighting, so lower would be my choice. If you are going with primarily stony corals, I would avoid the toadstool and kenya tree as well. The chemicals they give off (turpines?) don't play well with LPS/SPS.

Save the tops for something that likes high flow/high light.

Here's a few pics of mine to give you an idea of how fast they grow and fill in the area

Good to know and nice tank! I'm definitely getting rid of the regular toadstool and likely the devil's hand, but I really would like to keep the Kenya Tree and Tyree Toadstool. I run GAC regularly since I read that it will reduce the transfer of chemicals.
