When coral is quarantined does any medication need to be placed into the water to keep the pest from jumping from one coral to another, or do coral pest not just float around in the water and only stay on the corals?

I don't QT corals rather I dip them, (I use Revive) and clean around the plug, if possible remove from the plug, inspect, rinse, rinse.... and in they go

My experience with dipping (Bayer Total Insect) is that there is still plenty of life that survives. I also assume if it doesn't kill the coral it wouldn't kill Aiptasia. Quarantine your coral so you know what comes with it before it goes in the tank.
Likewise, if you've been diligent and successful in TTM and quarantine of your fish, why risk betting wrong on putting your coral straight into the tank?
