Coral Question - Need to lower water and turn off Sump system

The tubing leading from my overflow to my sump had some leaks, so I needed to lower the water level and turn off the return pump. I need to let it dry to reapply the tubing and seal with silicone (extra precaution after a leak).

I have a couple soft corals in there, will they be okay? They were just transported here yesterday so they are still wilted over due to the transportation and trying to get reestablished.

I have a powerhead in the tank, so there is some flow, but all filtration is on the sump other than the live rock in tank.

If it's going to be down for Amy amount of time longer than an hour or two then I'd throw the heater in the display tank. Other than that you'll have zero issues.

Thank you, I appreciate the quick reply. I think it will be down most of the day as I am about to head into work.

I did move the heater up into the display tank.

The tank can last forever like that..

Make sure the powerhead is agitating the surface of the water to help with gas exchange.

Or you can drop in an air stone and pump some air in.

I agree, causing you are also losing this with the skimmer being off-line.

Just want to check, I applied some silicone to a drain pipe only a couple hours ago and want to give it more time to set.

I have two powerheads. One agitating the surface and one low and temp is hold co stand around 79.

Will this be okay for over a day? No fish in the tank, only live rock and corals.

Yes. I've ran tanks with nothing more than live rock, circulation, and weekly water changes for years.

Don't let your sump sit stagnant either.
