Coral question

Nope.

I do like having them though so the tank isn't pitch dark at night. I've heard that it can help certain things in your tank spawn due to having a lunar cycle. The lights I purchased change intensity at different times of the month to mimic full moons and such.

Carlos,

Moonlights are not required for your corals.
They just make the tank look nice at night. I have moonlights that i purchased at www.autolumination.com, the kit here is fairly cheap and are very bright. They also come in a wide range of colors.

I believe it is true though that if you have your moonlights set to a lunar cycle it aids in coral spawning. Again thogh they are not something that is definitely needed.

Im running 3 lights on my 75 and its way bright, maybe to much

Thanks Brian,

I actually got the idea for my moonlights from your tank build LOL.

I myself run 3 also. i like the moonlight look.
No real reason to run them except for looks and some say lunar cycles blablabla.

looks nice, but it serves a purpose for me too. Lights off = fish in overflow constantly... lights on = well, just the opposite.
