coral recovery

i have this coral that was retracted and the skeleton started to look as if it was bleaching so i moved it to a shadyer spot ..the polyps are starting to extend again, how long..and im sure its diff depending on what species of coral...in general will a coral take to recover.

idk what kind of coral it is,,its stony with polyps that extend maybe a half inch doesnt seem to encrust its a tan color

Do you know what basic type of coral it is? LPS, SPS Of course there are many factors other than what species it is, like the original cause of why it was retracting... could have been too much flow, lighting, or a water chemistry problem.. of course test all of the parameters to ensure they are within acceptable ranges and observe the specimen.. Pics would help and a idea of what system you are running.. i.e. Lighting, flow
