Yeah he is nice, we were talking and he was very nice. His wife and daughters were there and there youngest was playing with my oldest. It's nice they are family oriented also.

very nice...anyone remember that guy from Nemo?

Went in today and bought a fish and a fire shrimp. Gotta say I really like this store. A little light on stock, but that's to be expected for a new place. Very reasonable prices and extremely friendly staff.

This may end up being one of my new favorites. For my 2 cents, a great start and a store I'll support! Check 'em out.

its the cleanest store in the area IMO.

Give it a month.... All new stores are like that... even johns, but johns is still clean.

i bought a pom pom xenia from them yesterday. from the time i left the store it was down hill. went from a beautiful 6 head masterpiece to absolutely nothing within 24 hrs.

although sad to see it died, i called the store and over the phone they gave me store credit for it. spared me the 30 mile trip back to the store.

the husband and wife team running this place are absolutely great! very personable, helpful and have a nice store. i had that impression before this problem, and today they just showed me they are there for the customers!

my opinion, they are the #1 store in Sac.

I have gone into this store a couple of times now. they are the nicest store in sacramento and the outlying areas. They seem to have better prices than anyone else in the area and they seem like they are not just interested in your money. i am new to this wonderful world and they have patience with me unlike other stores.
hopefully many more great things to come from this store:-)

I was there too on Saturday. Great layout, nice staff, and average prices from what I saw. Very nice selection of corals if you like the larger retail size. They have a cool one-eyed filefish looking guy on the right who I enjoyed watching for a while as he tried his best to watch me. I like the chance to have decent LFS's in the area. However, I do admit the 20% John offered I couldn't pass up.

KMP - wow. I know when pulsing xenia is unhappy (I refer to it as my tank's "canary in the coal mine") it will dissolve fast but thats really fast. It didn't like something. Very generous of the store to provide credit. Anyway, great store.

I just got back from CRS. Definitely dig the clean, nice and open layout of the store. The owners were very friendly and took the time to show me around the store. I spotted some really cool macros in the shop while browsing the tanks :DThe store has potential to be special. If you haven't checked it out you should give it a look.

It's such a hassel to get over there for me... I use to have friends that lived in the area, but they have all moved out..the closest I get is when I visit my parents over by 80 and madison...
But with all the positive responses maybe I'll go out of the way to check it out....not that I could fit another coral in my tank if I wanted to...

I took the tour yesterday, and have good hopes for it. I really enjoyed the cube with the vortex of water pulled into the drain, no proteins floating there!!
I noticed most of the water was really crisp. Had never seen JEBO lights in action. Looked good.

I think the basement bottom dollar stores with cheap dime a dozen corals and overpiced common fish are too plentiful in this area. Personaly I would like to see more of a higher end store with the harder to find and rarer stuff to be found. Because there is quite a few stores around that already carry the basics, if you include all the petsmarts, petcos and such. If you want anything real high end one needs to go to Atlantis or trade locally.

Pesonally I would like to see Johns or this one go that route.....where false perculas, damsels, and brown colored corals are are not to be found. And Superman digis, Bonsai Acros, Pink Lemonades are the standard......I think there is a customer base for that type of store...

on my last stop at your reef, john was telling me he was setting up a more high end frag tank. that may be what you are looking for. he told me 3 weeks, that was two weeks ago.

Yes, it was fast. When I saw it they had recently moved it from one tank to another. It wasn't open, but was a nice size, and looked as though it was going to be really nice once it was settled.

By the time I got home (30 min) the water in the bag was really merky. After 1.5 drip acclimation I put it in the tank. 5 hours later it looked as though there were "ashes" on the surrounding rocks. I gently hit it with a turkey baster and gunk flew up every where, although it looked better. By the next morning, two heads were gone (more ashes around it) and the foot was also coming apart.

That said, I called the store and was not only surprised they would credit me, but they also didn't makeme bring it in.

You may have better luck with one from a local tank, they don't ship well from the wholesalers. There is usually someone in the club with xenia to spare.
It is a nice clean shop.

Yeah, I have been waiting for that also, thats what I am hoping for

I just bought a beautiful Purple sea fan with blue flowers and after acclimating for ten mintes it was happy as hell. the flowers love to open at night. it was the noly purple one i have ever seen so i had to have it. everything i have gotten from this store has been extremely happy. I dont think i will ever have a complaint about this store like i do about some of the other ones in the area. hte customer service once again was second to none, the store was spotless, the selection was like no-one else and just the general atmosphere was very welcoming. I do not go to any other stores in the area. From now on this is my one stop fish shop.

Xenia don't always ship well. But I will say not to throw out the rock they were one. If there was even a sliver of flesh left on it the xenia could/would grow back. :)
