If you have a fairly light piece of raw dead coral to stick it to, lay xenia on sand, lay rock on it, and it will have bonded by morning. Variation on the rubber band technique, which also works great.
Put a toothpick through the base of the xenia, then stick the end of the toothpick into a small hole in the rock. It pins it to the rock and it will attach quickly, usually within a few days, then remove the pick. Works like a charm every time. Good luck!!
Nother trick that's been floating around is to use a needle and some monofilament fishing line to attach with. Thread some line through the base and then tie the line around a piece of rubble. Once the critter is attached snip the line and pull it out. Supposedly this works great with critters that slime up real bad like xenia. p.s. If you're fragging xenia, run the needle and thread through the stalk before you cut.
