coral rubble

I have about a 4 gallon container of coral rubble that was used in a fish only tank nearly ten years ago. The tank was treated with copper at least a couple of times, should it just be thrown away or can it be used in a calcium reactor?

Thanks,
John

If you used copper, just get it out of the house so you don't accidentally forget and get it in the tank.

I second that Roy, but is there anything that can be done to rinse the rubble copper free?

I mean like dump it in a sump and run lots of carbon and anything else that might absorb heavy metals?

I wouldn't risk it. For $20 you can get a big jug of Gen-x media (coral rubble) and not have to worry about the copper.

I was actually curious Mike. If there was a low cost thing you could do, and then test for copper with a kit.....
