Coral Shipment at Rods

Soggy Pockets

In Memoriam
Rod (Rod's Reef) received an incredible shipment of Syrabaya (sp) corals yesterday. Was there at night and picked up a few beauties..has about 60 or so left. Well worth the trip to DeKalb.

Better...cause I was there alone to pick over. Looked for the ones I thought you would like most-took those FIRST!

Yeah, the shipment rocked!

I could only take two-out of room in the tank! Have talked w/Bret and am buying one of his bigger zero edges he has sitting in his shop that was a proto type..will have Rod work his magic on it and put in a 40gal breeder fuge/sump.

Back on thread...Tony, you need to get by his place.

just the corn and soybean fields alone are worth the trip
then if you add a new shipment of corals, surge tanks as far as the eye can see, and of course Gus
I'll need a nap
Oh that's right, no naps in DeKalb

Argh, I drove past Rod's today on my way back from Moline but he was closed. He called me back like 15min after I passed his exit....

wish I had some leftovers for ya..given that I am now OFFICIALLY out of room in the small zero edge-I was only able to pick up 2 yesterday. (at least that's what I told me wife yesterday)

your trips sound awesome-well worth saving for...can always stock up on the corals when done with the trips..

Ah Gus, I sure wish I had a trough sized tank for one of his cousins. Its a good thing my g/f goes to NIU! Otherwise I might start to miss visiting him, as Chicago to DeKalb is a long trip.

Twas the least I could do, with all your fellow aquarists out there trying to snatch it up, I felt obliged to protect that 1/2 inch piece of frag ;)

couple bad pics of the great coral I got

Last night I picked these up from Rod. I also got some very sweet blue zoas, but they are placed in a bad spot to take a quick pic of. The acro is WAAAAaay better than the pic looks. It's a nice purple with green coralites.
