It is probably in the best interest of the club to end this idea. If you were interested in the program feel free to move forward with it on your own. I personally do not see how it is worth ripping the club apart with a program designed to bring us together. It is not impossible and is very successful in other clubs. I guess we are just not ready for it...

If it's done on the side let me know, I'd probably get in on it. It's not the whole idea I'm uncomfortable with it's the pleasing 70 or 80 people I'm concerned with. I've dealt with alot of members buying and selling I've tried to give the best deals I can, I've been selling frags of bonsai and tyree ponape for 10 or 15 bucks since they were big enough to frag. I believe in sharing and bringing down the market, and again if a big buy or something happens I'm sure the club could buy a few frags and just give them away in a raffle.
 
Hey wait a minute??? You have Purple Bonsai for $10 or $15? I want some. :0( My wife has been bugging me to get some after seeing JJ's.

Id really hate to see this idea completely die, it has great potential. It might be better, however, to do this separately. Aside from possible disagreements, it puts a bigger load on the BOD, which is probably not the best thing to do. It can be difficult enough to keep it all going anyway. I don't see any reason this cant be done on the side.
 
There would not have been any real change to the load on the BOD. That is why the BOD has the power to create action committees (groups of people that handle a specific job). It was desgined to be very easy. It was taken to the president whom veto'd it before it ever got to the board (which isn't really legal, but I didn't want to argue). It was then designed to be a private deal, but still got caught in the flack and drama, so I am bailing until this all cools off and everyone gets a fresh look at it.

There are a few people that have expressed interest and will possibly try to run it and maybe others will understand it better later. So, as far as I am concerned this is no longer a public or club matter and does not need to be discussed as it never ends positively.

Actually it did make it to the board....it would be nice if people would stop asking me to re-run as president and then trying to make me out as being unfair and a huge "do it my way or else" kind of person, i was fair and did what you asked. I took your idea to the board as YOU asked, none of us thought it would work SORRY. Now after agreeing to drop the subject and go another route your still stirring the pot. And people wonder why no one wants on the board anymore.

Actually your own board member posted that it never made it to him in your I'm leaving thread. (quoted below)

I also said that we then took it as a private idea. I did not then and will not argue about it now. Your quiting thread has shown you people want you to stay, just as they have for everyone before you. They trust you will do a fine job as do I. I was just relaying the way things happened from my view and that this topic was going to be dropped for the sake of the club. Again I will not be posting on this subject until everything cools down.

We've checked with Liveaquaria before they won't give any type of discounts for club orders.

I'll apologize for that one, with almost all the trustees dropping or selling tanks I did forget to email him.
