Coral Tank from Canada (1350gal Display Tank) - split

Just found this thread. Heartbreaking. I remember seeing the tank on youtube several years ago and being amazed.

Can't wait to see what you do next!

I was away from the hobby for a while, recently had my interested reignited while scuba diving on my honeymoon, so naturally I came back to forums. I am heart broken to see what you've gone through. I was following this build very early, maybe even from the beginning. I know you guys have plans are moving forward and that both excites me and makes me happy for you, that you can get up and move beyond this!

Just saw today that Philips is bringing out an LED fixture. Makes me wonder if Peter had anything to do with it. :p
Seems to have been available in Europe for a while but I could see V.2. being one of the first in North America to use these new lights.

You mean the Coral Care unit?

Yes. Just watched the BRS review. You know it?

Only by reading. I was actually going to order one through a friend in Europe but ended up building my own. I like their approach to size and number of LED's and type. I've had great success with Luxeon's so a bit biased.

The unit will allow a good mixture of spectrum and intensity. Those two in my opinion are they keys to successful tanks if one is using LED's. Depending on the entry point regarding price, it could be a big deal. If they market them anywhere near the EcoTech's forget it.

People will still be better off going on their own.
