Ok Tone, on a serious note, one of the issues I hope to get to in a long discussion down the road is matching livestock to the ecosystem so that there is a real material relationship in evidence. That means benefiting from folks like yourself that get your knowledge and inspiration from the real thing. Its an area we don't traditionaly handle in this way. We try and sort through issues like fish that are reef safe and how to bring some of our favourites to a limited cube of salt water. I would like to ask what options do I have given the underlying structure and mix of coral. How do the fish relate and equally important how does the coral reciprocate?

So diver's hang in there, I plan to pull heavily on your real world experience. BUT not for a while yet!!!!!!

Peter

Agreed completely!

On that note...

Great thread! Alot of good information, and also very entertaining!

Thank you Christina, welcome to the group. Tomorrow is HVAC day and this little commercial was designed to make sure everyone is paying attention for tomorrows stuff. :reading:

There are a number of spectators just off Toronto Island that would confirm that I shouldn't be allowed to open a flight log let alone board an aircraft.

Sounds like there's a story there. You'll have to share it over a beer (or glass of wine) some day....

Great thread Peter! Even though I have been in this hobby for a long time I am always learning and your thread has contibuted to that process. Thank you. And may I say you have fine taste in automobiles! Keep the pics coming!

alright, Bentley check, Ferrari check, Lambo check, when do we get to see your daily driver? I'm guessing a Prius to make up for the gas guzzlers we've already seen :jester:

Don't get me wrong, i'm just green with envy. :) not to mention if i had any one of those cars i could sell it and pay off my mortgage :) Wait then i could get a bigger tank!!

Thank you sir and a warm welcome to the group. Somehow cars seem so much simpler to deal with than fish...........

Amazing thread Peter! Have been following it closely since the beginning and was finally able to remove my jaw from the ground and mop up that pool of drool! As a total noob myself (currently in the planning stages of my 1st SW tank that will be about 200g or so) it has been a huge inspiration to see all those members willing to chime in and share their vast knowledge and experience to point you in the general direction you want to go.

Having to deal with a few minor negative comments (no doubt stemming from understandable envy!) is a small price to pay for all the genuine, insightful knowledge that you are being bombarded with on a daily basis. Criticism can be a great educator when it is applied in a constructive (not destructive) manner.

With that in mind.............I look forward to following the evolution of your dream and I'll be sitting here sponge-like, soaking up all that valuable knowledge.

On a totally different topic, not sure if you heard but Australian Neil Robertson won the World Snooker Championships last weekend - the first player from outside the UK/Ireland to win it since your buddy Mr. Thorburn in 1980.

Spurredon, you are right, the greatest asset this thread has is this community. We are all beneficiaries of this knowledge and experience.

It's great that it's an Australian to win at the Crucible. Canadians and Australians don't have a full appreciation as to the significance of that honour. Thank you for passing that along. Cliff is in the UK as we speak(or type) participating in the legends of snooker tour throughout Britain.

Thank you for your support..............

I don't know whether Mr Wilson drives a Lada or a Bugatti, but I can tell you I don't care what he drives when it comes to his advice about feeding coral.
Peter

Mr. Wilson's coral feeding advice would be a lot more accurate if he gave it from an onboard computer in a new Aston Martin Vanquish :)

Hey Peter,

I'm still around town and I'm not "liking" this (nice Hot wheels) at all ... are you "taking us for a ride" here??!!! :lol2:

Now if you ever, ever wanna sell/trade in either one of your wheels ... can I touch it before it goes? :frog: Nice collection for sure ... now can we see some pictorals of your project please mate?

Ferrari are about looks, if its about going fast they are alot of cheaper and faster cars. And for me its the 0 to 60 (mph) not the top speed, as any one can go in a staright line fast. E.g.

Caterham Seven Superlight R500,
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution FQ-400
Nissan GT-R
