Coralife 65 super skimmer??

I just bought one for my 37 gallon set-up. Tell me the pros and cons of these skimmers.

I have one and like it. Others complain about having to adjust it continuously. There's no object data, so it's hard to say much. Just give it some time to break in, maybe a week, and perhaps it'll be fine. Mine is.

mine works great... It definitely needs a few days to really start pulling out the scummy stuff... and you should only need to make adjustments to it if you use it somewhere in your system that the water level fluctuates...

oh yeah also make sure the little gray air silencer is working... some people (myself included) have had the little tubes come from the factory with a flaw that makes the skimmer not skim... just blow into it and if no air flows thru it then drill it out...

Ive only had mine for a few weeks and Im very happy with it.

Really like mine I adjust it once or twice a week when I dump all the gook,.,.

Mine is working great. I get some dark gook that comes out of it. Like they said make sure the air silencer isn't clogged also you have to clean out the nipple where the air silencer meets the pump.

I have one too. What is the air silencer exactly? The tube with the grey plastic part that hangs out of the water? Maybe that is why mine seems to be noisy? I agree, it does work well for the money. I keep mine on the lowest setting. When the water level changes, it affects it big time. Too full and it overflows, too much evaporation and mine won't work at all.

I have one on my 55 gal. fish only tank. I think it's fantastic. It really gets the gunk out of the tank. We have to clean out the cup daily.....but it never really needs much adjustment. Just a slight....and I mean very slight turn of the knob to raise or lower the bubbles and it's fine.

My ONLY complaint about this unit is that I think the pump takes up alot of room in the tank.

pros... best filtration ever. Clean everything out. keeping system stable.

cons... breakin it in, empty cup, clean out everything like trace elements.

over all, best system for filtration. Best combo up with refugium.
