Coralife Aqualight Pro Lighting - replacement builb

Is this fixture compatible with the:

250 Watt 10000K Metal Halide Bulb - Ushio, Double Ended

and/or

250 Watt 10000K Metal Halide Bulb - XM, Double Ended

I am looking (potentially) at using he Ushio as it reports better white and higher PAR.

Thank you for your post, unfortunately the Coralife Aqualight Pro Lighting unit you speak of is not compatible with the Ushio bulbs. Ushio bulbs require a pulse start ballast, to fire which the fixture does not have, the fixture is only equipped with an electronic ballast.

Sometimes the Ushio bulbs will fire with the electronic ballasts but it is short lived most of the time for only a few weeks, then they cease to fire.

As far as the Xm bulbs are concerned, these bulbs should work quite nicely in that fixture as they will fire in just about any ballast.
