Coralife BioCube 29g Build

Finally had some time and read through your whole thread. Looking great so far, and I love that your using the TBS rock. I was reading all about "The Package" earlier this morning.

How is the RODI working out? I know we was speaking about it a couple of days ago. Have you set up your QT yet?

Thanks! RODI is setup and working, but my pressure is low. So I need to get the booster pump soon, but it's "good enough" for now.

The TBS rock is great! I get the second shipment tomorrow night, so will have another big update soon with pics. The cycle was almost non-existent and never got above 0.8ppm for ammonia.

I forgot to answer your QT question. Things have been crazy busy at home and work, so I just haven't had time to clean the QT tank and get it setup. At least I have the RODI and saltwater, so hopefully I can get it setup this weekend.

My LFS set aside two clowns to make sure they would mate up, so I will add them to QT right away once I have the tank setup. Maybe Saturday or Sunday.

Yea I know like me you didn't want to have to buy a booster pump. When I look for a new house my real estate broker is going to hate me. If the house doesn't have adequate water pressure then I'm not buying lol.

So excited to get my 2nd shipment of the TBS Package today. Richard's email to me with the tracking info was, "You are going to have a colorful tank this afternoon"!

Can't wait to see it and will take better pics this time around. LOL

Just remember to not pull the sponges out into the air except to get them into the tank. They will not survive much air contact.

It's sad but I am giddy sitting here in my office watching the clock so that I can come play with the rock work and it is not even mine!!!

I will remember to bring over my full set of tools tonight though so we can ensure we can get to anything we wish to get out or spear it in the hole.

YOU are giddy?!? The boxes are sitting at the airport and I am currently 15'ish minutes away in the city trying to finish up so I can go pick it up!! I'm going out of my mind. LOL

I am free to come over whenever. I was so excited I took a half day so I could get the mattress out of our storage room for removal tomorrow this afternjoon giving me more time to come over...

So let me know when you are ready...

On my way to the airport now. Should be home with it in 1.5 hours. But I need to make sure the wife blesses the house as being "ready" for a guest. LOL

Quick update with some pics. Will try to post more tomorrow.

The extra goodies

Took out a bunch of the first shipment of rock because there is so much. I will use it in the QT tank, and as the tank settles in I may put some back. I really liked the arrangement I had with the first shipment, but the new stuff is really pretty. I will take more pics once the tank settles down.

I ordered some new gear. I still need more stuff than this, but was feeling the need for the following:

Tunze 3155 Osmolator ATO - After talking to cabo about the difference between the nano and this one, the decision was pretty easy. It basically has more failsafes than the nano.

InTank Media Basket, polyfill, Seachem Seagel (blend of MatrixCarbon & PhosGuard), and some media bags. Want the option to polish the water and such, and the InTank media basket is really well made (saw it at MACNA).

Salifert reef combo test kit (Alkalinity, Calcium & Magnesium) so I can test my levels now that I have some corals and more life in the tank.

Got crazy glue gel and the wife helped plan out the tank. She's actually getting kind of excited about it (sort of).

Here are some pics of the tank, though the water is a little murky from stirring things up a bit.

The picture of this sponge does NOT do the color justice. It is SUCH a cool orange and looks absolutely awesome in the tank!! I hope it doesn't die off"¦ need to do some research on how to keep it alive.

Gorgonian is looking decent, extending a lot.

I'm not sure if this Aquaticlife 115 skimmer is going to work out. I am running it in vinegar to clean it and try and cure it, and there are just so many bubbles coming out of it.

When I had it in my tank running before I had anything other than water, it created so many micro bubbles you couldn't see the back of the tank from the front.

I'm not sure what to do for a skimmer if it doesn't work out. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
