Coralife Protein Skimmers

These are horrible skimmers. Please look at another brand.

They are rated double what they can really handle and they are cheaply made. Thin acrylic and plastic means they break easy.

What size tank are you looking to skim?

My friend has that on a 29 gal bio cube. She tried several skimmers and it is the best hang on the back skimmer she has found. Have to keep it level on the back and raise it up on the back if it skims to much and you can't control it. Overall it's easy to start, easy to clean and skims really well.

i agree would say go with a better well known brand..

Check out Bulk reef supply line of skimmers . They carry only the top brands.. I have a skimz brand that has been flawless ..... but there or others as well equal or maybe even better ....

Coral life skimmer

Coral life skimmer

The pump is big and uses like 25 watts of electricity. Only Puts out like 100lph of air. You can find a better skimmer for about the same price.

Other skimmers for around $150-$200 put out 400-500 lph and only use 12-18watts worth the few extra bucks

I had one on a 37g cube. I agree with others that looking elsewhere is a good idea. BUT! if you are short on funds, and understand that down the road you will most likely need/have/want to upgrade, it was ok for a 1-2 yr temporary use. It can be modded to increase its output, but it won't be a workhorse, more like a rented mule you beat.

I ran one on my first tank and it was junk compared to what has come out in the last few years. Over priced and way under rated skimmers ime.

Agree with everybody above. Don't let the price attract you. They are built cheaply, and are bulky. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more, you can get some really great skimmers for a reasonable price if you do your research. There are several Reef octopus models that come to mind.
