Does anyone know if any of the online places sell Corallife Salt at decent prices with no heavy shipping charge?

i am thinking of ordering some and mixing it 50/50 with the Reef Crystals I have to get a better mix on Calcium and Alk

DrsFosterSmith is the cheapest i found shipping is only 9.99 and i got mine in 3 days. they have the best shipping prices i have ever seen online. i got a bucket of salt and 2 other small items shipping was 15 bucks and it all came in under a week.

Thanks - I typically order from the good Drs - so sounds like a plan. But in further reading i may go with oceanic Salt - and mix 1/3 oceanic, 2/3 Reef Crystals till i use up my supply of reef crystals. that should help boost my Ca levels and reduce my alk during water changes - as both are a bit out of balance now

I placed an order for Salt late last year from Petsolutions.com, had 8 buckets shipped for $16. Shipping for salt is (or was) $16 for 1 or 20. Can't beat that although I don't think they have coralife.

Dr Foster and Smith really jacked up their salt prices in the last few months. Reef Crystals used to be $31 - $33 per bucket, now it is $47 there.

Elmers will price match...

Elmers will price match...

I usually get salt from foster smith however I talked to elmers and they will match total price (salt and shipping) from anywhere which is still cheaper than their price and no waiting !!!
I thought that was pretty sweet!!
I also felt the wrath of the foster smith price increase :(

reefcrystals have a new 200g pack which is 4 bags for $49 no bucket though but if your anything like me you have just about enough buckets .....

^^^ Is there such a thing as too many buckets? I hadn't heard :)

We were at 380 auction Sunday and they had them for 2 bucks each. I bought four and the excuse I gave the wife was they were black and I didn't have any black ones!!!!!!

:D

slate - thanks, alas I am on the other side of the city. Plus I need to order a few other things so it will be easier to have it shipped

Drs Foster and Smith is the place to buy it from. Whenever I purchase buckets, I go through them. Although, I'll need to talk to Elmer's about the statement above. If that's true, I'll probably start buying from them.

You'll get a nice little Magnesium boost as well. The Coralife Has high Ca & Mag, but a lower Alk... Instant Ocean has a high Alk, but lower Ca & Mag levels.

I got some pretty nice results when I combined them. I actually purchased both from Petsmart, and had a few coupons which helped. Otherwise it would have been a little more expensive, but I was able to get my hands on it that day.

(I only picked up the 50lb mix bags for the first experiment though)
