Can anyone give me a guesstimate on how long it takes for coraline algae to reproduce and spread?

Not trying to hijack but does anyone know if coralline can be "seeded"? As in, if your new rock has little or no coralline on it, you can place a piece covered with it, into the tank to help it spread...assuming your levels are in check...

I'd stay away from purple up personally. There are much better methods of keeping your alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in balance. Start with diligent weely water changes since you are running a fowlr and watch your alkalinity. Coralline is one of those things that just takes time.![]()
