Corallife super skimmer

It is hanging on my tank, how high shoudl the water level be on it. It constintly overflows, for no reason wat soever. I think it might have to do with water level?

Does it have the red adjustment knob on top? If so just givwe it a turn clockwise to turn it down a bit.

If it's still breaking in leave the water level relatively low for awhile. I have also drilled a hole in the top 1/2" of the collection cup and ran a hose back into the tank. This has saved my carpet on a few occassions. These skimmers are great for the price but are prone to overflowing.

no i have had it for a while evry once in a while it goes crazy for liek a month for no reason and i jsut leave it off for liek 3 weeks.

Make sure you take it out and clean it once or twice a month. I take mine out and rise it with hot water and vinegar. Also make sure the inlet tube for the air is clean from salt, after awhile it will get clogged with salt and cause it to over flow.

Cut the plastic tube, that is connected to the elbow, that drains the water into the bubble box in half. If its too long it will hit the sponges in the bottom and push water back in the skimmer forcing it to overflow. I did this and havent had that problem since.

I have my Super Skimmer in my sump. I didn't like it hanging off the tank and it works better in the sump...

yeah i have actually cut the whole plastice tube off, i think it might be the spnge in the bubble box, i think when it gets dirty it might back it up, next time it starts to freak i am gonna clean the spnge before i clean anytign else to see if that if the problem.

I have that same skimmer. You can leave it down on the lowest setting, and it skims just fine. It does take a few weeks to break in though.
