Coralline algae, black or blue backgrond

What will encourage more Coralline algae growth, black or blue background? Does it matter? The tank is a 72 g bowfront, being started with 100lbs of well aged live rock. Lighting is 2*250mh + 2*96 cf. There will be about 1400 gph flow.

Shouldn't matter, although if black absorbs more light the coralline might prefer it -- it probably won't take off right away under 250W MH, the best growth I've ever had is in a FOWLR tank with just PC lighting. It doesn't like intense light...

Mine is growing like crazy with a blue background. But it is also growing as well on the sides with no background.

It should be what you prefer as for the color of your back ground. Coralline will grow!

I agree, coralline will grow no matter what color background you have. It just may take a little time.

i know it grows faster on acrylic than glass
