Coralline algae

I have a question for you expert out there. usually the coralline algaes are purple, how come it is red in my tank?

Do a google search for coraline algae: i believe it can come in all sorts of colors....white means dead

I have some red and a little green along with the purple. There are different colors and you would need to seed some of the scrappings.

I really like the red, I would consider yourself lucky. If you want to add purple just add a pce of LR that has it on it or trade a rock with someone.

yeah like mine all my rocks have purple coraline but on my tank walls i am getting green coraline while my powe heads get pink and green weird

when i picked up a few boxes of fresh kaelini the rocks looked like a psychedellic trip- all kinds of colors everywhere... but curing them killed most of the coralline and by the time they were in the tank for a week they were pretty much white.
