Corallites?

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the axial and the radial corallites, and how does one tell the two apart???

Axial are the ones at the tips, radial are the one around the the branches.

So, it's from the axial corallite that new growth forms--or can new growth also come from a radial corallite?
