corals in checked bags allowed?

It should be, I know when we flew to HI a few weeks a go we brought liquids along with us in the checked bags.

yes I have done that on my last 5 flights. On more than one occasion they have opened the package to see what was inside. I would make sure your outer container was water tight and made to open and close.

i just wouldnt try taking it across the border.

wha's the scoop on that--I was planning on visiting a reefer in Buffalo and making some purchases at their recommended lfs?

I would GUESS bringing them into the U.S. is more higly watched then leaving with them as it then becomes a matter for that country's laws and regulations.

any more first hand experiences or thoughts?

despite what anyone says on here you need to contact customs or the airline and find out what the policy is

Alaska had a 2 oz max policy when I flew back in Oct. I was kind bummed, but the xenia and torch made it in the bag O.K. :D
