Corals in so cal

Where is the best place to buy corals in or around the Long Beach area. I don't mind having to drive a little bit if it means getting a good selection of corals. I go to Circle pets and Strictly fish a lot, and their coral section is rather limited. Is there a store around here that has nice corals for a fair price?

Depends on what your looking for. I second Coral Oasis and also Eye Candy. Local reefers are also a good source. I have several Monti caps frags available from small to large. Also antnelia, teal blue candy cane, devels hand leather frags, mushrooms, yellow and green/brown polyps in Irvine.

Hey Creep, I am also in Long Beach. I have gotten my best stuff from reefers. I got some really nice stuff from Laverda in fact.... if u buy frags from fellow reefers, you can usually save a bundle... and ur also contributing to the hobby. If you want to go to a LFS, I also like Coral Oasis. Pacific Reef in Fountain Valley and Torrance has some nice stuff too. HTH.

Reefer doesn't have a GSP or frogspawn.

Go to eyecandy aquarium on Beach Blvd. I know he's got both. Or Tongs probably has small frags of both. But you could probably get those from a local reefer here for cheaper.

You can actually go IN to reefermadness? I thought it was only an online order thing.

Yes reefermadness allows walkins you just have to call before you go. creep I think fraggle reef has some frogspawn right now and you can pick up he is located in hawthorne if not just ask him and he will try and get it.

If you are looking for a good fish store in OC you need to go to New Wave on Tustin. Thay have good stuff and good service.

creep, not a lot of great shops in the LBC as you have found out. I live down the street from Strictly Fish and only go there when I have no other choice. Drive south to OC for better shops. You should also check out Jeff's in Gardena if your going to Reefermadness. I also think you need to call ahead to Reefermadness to see if/when you can walk in.

I second getting things from other reefers, you can save $$ and usually get tank raised pieces that for the most part, will do better than wild colonies.
