Are there any cold water corals in southern california that I can dive to? What would be the nearest place for me to dive in an exotic locale? I am in Orange county area 92683.

Farnsworth bank on the far side of Catilina, from everything I have heard the fish are more abundant and the hydrocoral are big and bright.

Mind you, the water is still California cold and it isn't an easy trip. Weather and swell can quickly force a change in plans.
For exotic warm water diving the closest place in socal is the sea of Cortez. There are live abourds there that look to be just as cool as the other more exotic locations.
