If you start with lps corals should you stay with that kind or can you mix sps and others in same tank?

You can mix different types of corals if you like, you'll just have to be careful when it comes down to placement. It's kind of like putting a puzzle together. Make sure to research the corals before you buy them and this will give you an idea of where they might belong in your tank.

I have currently have LPS with softies and zoos. The LPS are on one side and the softies and zoos are on one side separted by a break in the rock work. I'd start with zoos first because they spread and grow easily and can be bought as frags to save money

I agree with Cloak to every possible extent. I would go with leds just to be on the safe side. You get more lumens out of them

I have all of the above. Yes you can mix them just pay attention to their growth and if they start stinging each other frag or move them. Some will play nice though.....

Thanks for the input I just have a plate of some kind and a bunch of mushrooms, I just picked up a zoa frag so far. If I get any others I will probably need to clear out a bunch of mushrooms though they are all over my rocks. I even had one in my filter last time I changed media!
