T. Crocea has the strongest byssal gland of the tridacna family. It's naturally found in shallow reefs on the rockwork. The T. Crocea should be placed on a hard surface, such as on the rockwork, or a small rock/shell which is placed under the clam in the sandbed. The T. Crocea will eventually bury itself in the rockwork using a special type of chemical to break down the rock.
